This is tough

Getting back in shape is not easy. This past week, I did a few 2 mile runs at a 10 minute pace, and I thought I was going to die. It doesn't help I'm carrying an extra 30 pounds of weight. A few years back, I would do this as a warmup at a 7:30 pace. What I could do is now a goal, I except my current position, and will build from here. Chasing my own shadow will be a lot of work, patience, and belief I can do this at the ripe old age of 53.  Next post will be how I got in this current condition.

Meet Jaxs, my new rescue dog my wife got me. He loves to run and loves people. More on Jaxs later.

Today, went on an amazing mountain bike ride on trails I use to run at FATS big rock and tower loops. Felt great to be flowing along under the trees, thought I was going to die as my heartbeat pounded out of my chest, yet enjoyed every minute of it.

If 20 minutes is too much, don't be afraid to take walking breaks. I am doing the same, Thomas, as I haven't been running since January 7th.
I'll gradually increase the amount of time I'm running and the number of days I run.
